Rooted in timeless wisdom, the Hindu Circular Economy model offers a vision for a sustainable and prosperous future. This framework, developed by Avijit Kumar Roy, aims to create an economic system that is "dharmic, nature-aligned" and reflects Hindu values and standards. It is driven by principles like:
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Viewing all beings as interdependent, where there is no externalized waste.
Prakriti as Devi: Shifting the paradigm from nature extraction to reverence, prioritizing restoration and coexistence over exploitation.
Aparigraha & Ahimsa: Encouraging conscious consumption and production processes that minimize environmental and social exploitation.
Karma Yoga: Redefining work as a service to collective well-being, emphasizing impact over mere profit.
This model seeks to foster non-exploitative consumption, promote spiritual ecology, ensure social equity, and build economic resilience. Key initiatives include empowering local circular economies (Gram Swaraj), reviving traditional crafts and industries, and utilizing cow-based systems for energy and materials. The proposed Hindu/Bharat Standard Organization (HSO) would provide a credible framework for ethical conduct and sustainability, with auditing based on the Triguna classification (Satvik-Rajasik-Tamasik).
This is a call for first movers and collaborators to help shape a dharma-driven future for India and the world.
